they are slightly ordinary in Valyrian terms. They weren’t the most powerful dragonriders in Valyria but in Westeros they are perceived as gods for having dragons. Their own hubris brought that downfall
the targaryens weren’t even the top dogs of valyria before the doom lol they were kinda ordinary but they just happened to escape with dragons and then the conquest happened so now everyone looks at them like they’re Gods but they are actually just pretentious snobs?? it makes sense they caused their own downfall
